Setting Up Manager Hierarchy: Upgrading to V2
Last updated: May 26, 2026
Some Manager Hierarchy features were already available in your org. V2 adds new controls and changes some behaviors. Here's what's new and what to review.
What's new in V2
New Manager Hierarchy rule: Previously, the visibility used to be set at a manager vs rep level. This caused a lot of confusion with the Hyperbound roles (admins, observers). In this release, we've intentionally kept it simple.
The Manager role is now removed from Hyperbound and the visibility rules are now tied up to the Hyperbound role (Admin, Observer vs Member, Member+)
If there are users that have been given a manager, the recommendation is to make them admins/ observers.
Teams page revamp: Revamped the teams and members page for easier and polished control to set hierarchy.

Folder-level sharing: Folders can now be shared with specific teams. Previously only bots had team access controls.
Sub-folder and bot inheritance: Sub-folders inherit access from their parent folder. Bots inherit access from their folder. You no longer need to set access on each bot individually.
Scope label: On Call History and AI Roleplays, users now see a label at the bottom of the page showing exactly what data they're looking at — for example, "Showing calls for AE only." This helps users understand why they're seeing what they're seeing.

What to review after upgrading
Folder sharing: folders that were previously unrestricted may now need explicit sharing. Go through your folders and set sharing as needed. By default these will be set to Share with Everyone
Bot access: bots now inherit access from their folder. Individual bot access settings may have changed. Review bots that had custom access set. The existing bot's sharing access will be preserved.
Please note that individual bot sharing will be deprecated and replaced by folder sharing for improved management and collaboration.
Team Roles: Members/ Member+ who were previously Managers in Hyperbound will be upgraded to an Observer role!
Team hierarchy: if your org has grown, now is a good time to structure teams properly under parent teams.
Visibility settings: confirm the visibility level for admins and members still reflects how your org should work.
