Comments on Real Calls
Last updated: September 7, 2026
Leave feedback directly on a real call, either on the call as a whole or pinned to a specific moment in the recording. Tag teammates with @mentions, reply in threads, and everyone involved gets an email with a link straight to the comment.
Where to find it
Open any real call from Real Calls.
Click the Comments tab on the call page. A red badge on the tab shows how many comments the call already has.

On the whole call
Type in the Comment here... box at the top of the Comments tab.
Press Enter or click Comment. Use Shift + Enter for a new line.
At a specific moment
Play or scrub the recording to the moment you want to flag.
Tick Include time under the comment box. The timestamp field fills in with the player's current position. You can also type a time directly, for example 04:32.
Post the comment.
The comment shows a blue timestamp pill next to your name. Clicking it jumps the recording to that moment. In the transcript, the line at that moment shows a comment icon with a count. Click it to open the thread.
Timestamps are only available on calls that have a recording. Transcript-only calls take call-level comments.
@mention a teammate
Type @ followed by the first letters of their name.
Pick them from the dropdown with the arrow keys and Enter, or click.
Only teammates who can already open this call appear in the list. If someone is missing, they don't have access to the call.
Reply
Click the reply arrow on any comment. The first reply shows under the comment. When a thread has more, click See all replies to open the full thread in a side panel.
Replies are one level deep. You reply to the original comment, not to another reply.
Edit, delete, and share
Hover a comment you wrote and open the ... menu:
Action | What it does |
Edit | Change the text or mentions. |
Delete | Removes the text and shows "This comment was deleted". Replies under it stay. |
Copy link | Copies a link that opens the call, switches to the Comments tab, highlights the comment, and seeks the recording if the comment has a timestamp. |
Only the author can edit or delete a comment from the app.
Who can see and post comments
If you can open the call, you can read and post comments on it. There's no separate comments permission. This follows the same rules as call visibility: the rep on the call, admins and owners, observers, and managers whose team includes someone on the call. Private calls are limited to the rep and anyone the call was shared with.
Comments do not appear on public share links.
Email notifications
When | Who gets an email |
Someone is @mentioned | The mentioned person, always |
New comment on a call | The call owner (the rep on the call) |
Reply in a thread | The original commenter and everyone who has posted or been mentioned in that thread |
One email per person per comment. You never get an email for your own comment. The email links straight to the comment.
There are no in-app notifications for comments yet.
Good to know
Sort comments with the dropdown at the top: Newest first (default), Oldest first, or Call Order, which lists timestamped comments in the order they happen in the call, with call-level comments at the end.
Comments are capped at 2,000 characters.
Long comments collapse with a Show more link.
Comments work on mobile. The comment box opens as a bottom sheet.
FAQs
I tagged someone but they didn't show up in the dropdown.
They can't open this call. On private calls, share the call with them first. Otherwise check their role and team in Manager Hierarchy.
Can I comment on a transcript line without a recording?
Yes, as a call-level comment. Timestamp pinning needs a recording to seek to.
Does the rep get notified for every comment?
Yes, the call owner gets one email per new top-level comment, unless they wrote it.
Can I turn off the emails?
Not yet. Notification settings and bundling are on the roadmap.
