How to: Create and Edit a Cold Call Bot in Hyperbound

Last updated: May 6, 2025

Summary

Cold calls are for reaching out to prospects who aren’t expecting to hear from you. Hyperbound’s Cold Call Bot allows you to simulate realistic cold call scenarios using AI, helping reps build confidence and improve performance.

Step 1: Select “Cold Call” as the Call Type

From the AI Bot Creator page, start by clicking Cold Call from the list of available call types.

Step 2: Enter Bot Setup Information

  1. Job Title

    • Define the role of the bot (e.g., VP of Sales, Procurement Manager).

  2. Call Scenario

    • Choose from pre-built scenarios to shape the call's direction and tone (e.g., time-constrained, using a competitor, not interested).

  3. Bot Description ("The Brain")

    • Describe who the bot is. Treat this as your opportunity to make the persona believable.

  4. Company Name

    • Use real company names—the AI will research them to add realism to the conversation.

  5. Product Description

    • Add 1–2 concise lines describing the product you’re selling. Keep it simple and clear.

How to Edit a Bot (6 Key Sections)

1. Basic Details

  • This section contains instructions to the rep. Keep it focused and actionable.

2. Personal Details

  • Details about the bot’s identity.

  • Important: Emotional State

    • Determines the bot’s personality.

    • Ranges from Kind (easy) to Rude (hard).

    • Address the bot as “you”, since these fields are from the bot’s perspective.

3. Company Details

  • Auto-filled based on the company name you provided earlier.

  • You can customize further if needed.

4. Priorities & Objections

  • Most important section of the bot setup.

    • List the bot’s top goals and business priorities.

    • Enter realistic objections they may raise (e.g., “we already use a competitor,” “we don’t have budget”).

5. Opinions & Scenario Settings

  • Input the bot’s general beliefs or opinions about their industry, company, or product category.

  • Based on your chosen scenario, fill in additional details such as:

    • What the bot is aware of

    • How open or closed they are to discussing solutions

6. Scorecard Selection

  • Select a pre-created scorecard that aligns with this call type.

  • Scorecards help evaluate how well reps handle the call.

  • For help creating scorecards, refer to the video linked in this article.

Tips for Success

  • Be realistic: The more believable the bot, the more effective the practice.

  • Use progressive difficulty: Start with kind bots, move toward rude ones.

  • Refresh your bots regularly with current competitor objections or updated product messaging.
